COVID-19 Education Budget Cuts – The Ohio Budget and Management (OBM) office released a document last week detailing the education budget cuts district by district. As expected, OBM made deeper cuts to wealthier districts. It does not appear that ESC funding (including gifted units) were cut. The document detailing the cuts can be found at http://www.oagc.com/files/COVID-19%20district%20by%20district%20cuts.pdf .

Gifted Advisory Council (GAC) Application – The Ohio Department of Education is accepting applications for the Gifted Advisory Council until June 11. For more information, please go to http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Other-Resources/Gifted-Education/Rules-Regulations-and-Policies-for-Gifted-Educatio/Gifted-Advisory-Council

State Board of Education Meeting – The State Board of Education met virtually last week. The majority of the meeting was discussing various topics through the lens of COVID-19. One of the more interesting documents shared was a draft of how schools might restart next fall. The draft of that plan can be found at http://www.oagc.com/files/ODE%20Restart%20Plan%20Draft.pdf .

Gifted FAQ and Other COVID-19 Resources – OAGC continues to update the COVID-19 resources section of our website including the ODE Gifted COVID-19 FAQ. Other new resources include enrichment activities and testing advice. The resources page is at http://oagc.com/resources.asp.
