HB96 – Operating Budget
After more than 850 testimonies, the Senate Finance Committee released their substitute bill this afternoon (linked here). Gifted Professional Development Funds have not been reinstated. The Senate Finance Committee has an amendment deadline set for Friday, June 6th. Chair Cirino has announced that the sub bill released today will be considered a “working document” but is not the final draft of the budget that will be sent to Governor DeWine’s desk by the end of the month. There are three more days of testimony scheduled before Senate Finance.
Senator Hicks-Hudson, Ranking Member of Senate Finance, objected to the procedural action of passing the substitute bill. “While this is procedural, the substantive parts of this amendment requires more time.” The Sub Bill was ultimately accepted. If you have not done so, please make sure to contact your Senator and encourage them to adopt amendment SC1121-1.
