New Director of ODEW
Governor DeWine has named Steve Dackin as the new director of the Department of Education and Workforce. Dackin briefly served as state superintendent of the State Board of Education in 2022, but stepped down after an ethics inquiry. Dackin has most recently served as the superintendent of school and community partnerships for Columbus State University. Prior to this role, Dackin served as the superintendent of Reynoldsburg city schools from 2007- 2014.
Governor DeWine is also expected to name two deputy DEW directors that will serve under Dackin.
