Husted to Senate
Surprising to some, Governor DeWine officially appointed Lt. Governor John Husted to the United States Senate this afternoon. This position lay vacant after JD Vance was officially elected Vice President. Many speculated that the lt. governor had been planning to run for governor of Ohio in 2026 after DeWine had been term limited. Rumors swirled that Vivek Ramaswamy, Jane Timken, Frank LaRose, or Dave Yost were to be named to this senate seat instead of Lt. Governor Husted. In his speech this afternoon, Lt. Governor Husted outlined his work with school choice, career technology, and Innovate Ohio and stated, “[w]e have worked to make Ohio great again and I look forward to working with President Trump and J.D. Vance to make America great again.”
